CW President Praises NXT Women’s Division & Feels Its Strongest Division In All of WWE
Sports Business Journal held a recent interview with The CW President Brad Schwartz. One of the topics discussed included Schwartz’s thoughts about the partnership between WWE’s NXT brand and his network and his belief that NXT’s Women’s division is the strongest in all of WWE.
“What NXT offered us was the opportunity to have live-event programming 52 weeks a year on a Tuesday night (and not just weekend programming like their other sports properties). And so that was a really, really big move for us. We can try and turn these wrestlers into stars, we can market it, we can promote it, we can put the whole machine of Nexstar behind getting people to watch it and know that the value of that growth comes back to us for the next five years.
I think the women of NXT are better than the men. The women’s division of NXT is probably the strongest in all of WWE wrestling.”
John Cena Comments on Origin of His “You Can’t See Me” Taunt Being Happy Accident
A recent episode of ESPN’s First Take show featured John Cena as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cena’s thoughts about the origin of his iconic “You Can’t See Me” taunt being from a bet he had with his younger brother.
“It is my life. A happy accident. When we played my little brother Sean the album, he was doing [You can’t see me]. We were like, ‘Man, you look stupid.’ He’s like, ‘I bet you won’t do that on TV.’ I was wrestling match that no one cared about. I was on an obscure Saturday program called Velocity. No one ever watched it. I was like, ‘Nobody is watching. You guys can’t see me.’ It stuck. Here I am, the invisible man, 23 years later. The whole thing is a happy accident,

Becky Lynch Comments on Her WWE Women’s IC Title Loss & Protests Claiming AJ Lee Didn’t Have Manager’s Liscense
As noted before, Monday’s WWE RAW show at Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York featured Maxxine Dupri defeating Becky Lynch to become the new WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship. This match was notable for AJ Lee making her surprise return and distracting Lynch causing her title loss.
Lynch recently reflected on Twitter about her WWE Women’s Intercontinental title loss and her protest over her claims that it was the cause of corruption and AJ Lee not having a manager’s license to be out at ringside.
“Three letters: NML. No. Managers. License.
In the state of New York that is governed by the state athletic commission, a managers license must be attained for interfering parties to be allowed at ringside.
Therefore, hence, vis a vis, the outcome of this title match, which has been clearly rigged, is hereby under protest.
You will be hearing from my lawyer imminently. The changing of the side plates will result in a lawsuit.”
