Claudio Castagnoli Comments on His Belief Continental Classic Has Become “The Tournament” In Pro Wrestling
Wrestling Republic held a recent interview with Claudio Castagnoli. One of the topics discussed included Castagnoli’s thoughts about his belief that AEW’s Continental Classic tournament has become “The Tournament” in pro wrestling in terms of top status.
“Well, I think the Continental Classic has become the tournament in professional wrestling within three years. If you would have asked me every year, I’ve probably said it every year, saying that the competitors in it are amazing and are the best. But I feel like this year’s competitors, I mean, just look at the blue block. I mean, that’s just, you look at it and it’s a who’s who and you’ll be really hard to pick the outcome of it, and the same with the Golden Block as well. That’s what a tournament should be. I think it’s very unpredictable, which is obviously great for everyone involved, and it’s a big challenge, which is what I’m looking forward to. That’s why I like being in the Continental Classic. It’s because it’s plain, simple, it’s great it’s determination, it’s one versus one, seeing who’s the best.”

MVP Comments on Him Turning Down “Unrealistic Moves” On Bobby Lashley’s Behalf
A recent episode of the Marking Out with MVP and Dwayne Swayze podcast featured co-host MVP giving his thoughts about how he turns down “unrealistic moves” for Bobby Lashley to take in AEW on behalf of Lashley in order to protect “his size” as a giant.
“That’s kind of how me and Bobby ended up together too. Bobby is way too nice for the damage that he can do, he’s one of the nicest guys around and Bobby’s way too giving. So, guys will want to do stuff to Bobby and Bobby will be like, ‘Eh’ and I’ll be like ‘No. No, you can’t do that to him.’ Bobby will just be like, ‘Talk to P, man.’ Like, would you do that to Brock Lesnar? No. Well, that’s black Brock Lesnar. So, no you can’t suplex him. No, you can’t power bomb him. Not you. Protect your size, protect being a giant.”
