As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer and former AEW wrestler Sting’s son Steven Borden made his official in-ring debut for AEW at last week’s AEW Dynamite Winter Is Coming 2025 show in College Park, Georgia. Borden competed in a dark match that was held prior to the start of the show.
Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Borden is currently expected to be signed to a contract with AEW soon. Those spoken to reportedly stated that AEW CEO Tony Khan was impressed with Borden’s performance during his official in-ring debut for the company. Khan reportedly told Fightful Select that “I thought he was excellent. He’s doing a great job. Very exciting in my opinion.”
Another source within AEW spoken to reportedly stated that they expect Borden to be under an AEW contract before long if he is not already under one. It was reported that others also spoke positively about Borden’s work and physique.
Borden has been wrestling since this past November and had previously made an appearance for AEW at their Revolution 2024 in March of 2024. Borden and his brother Garrett had dressed up as Wolpak Sting and Surfer Sting and accompanied their father to the ring for his retirement match at the show.
