As noted before, David Finlay’s contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling is currently set to expire soon and he is expected to explore his options for the future of his wrestling career.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that Finlay’s name has been recently discussed within WWE for a potential signing.
It was reported that there have not been any talks between Finlay and WWE and Finlay still has contractual obligations to NJPW.
It was also reported that WWE officials are currently interested in bringing in Finlay for their NXT brand.
NJPW officials reportedly are currently hoping to keep Finlay in their company.
Finlay has been signed with NJPW since 2015. Finlay’s younger brother Brogan currently works in WWE’s NXT brand under the ring name of Uriah Connor and his father Fit Finlay has been working in WWE since 2001, first as a talent and currently as a coach and trainer.
