Tony Khan Comments on Two AEW Wrestlers To “Watch For The Future” in AEW
Compas On The Beat held a recent interview with AEW CEO Tony Khan at a recent Super Bowl Radio Row event in San Francisco, California. One of the topics discussed included Khan’s thoughts about who he believes could be AEW’s next big stars in the future from their Men’s and Women’s divisions.
“I would say we have a great young group of wrestlers. I’m very excited about AEW and our partnerships with companies around the world. And, I think two wrestlers that are under dual contracts, that I’d say you want to watch for the future in AEW and worldwide, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight, who is coming from New Japan Pro Wrestling and is a fantastic young American wrestler, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight.
Who is signed to both AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling. And he is now one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions as the Jet Set Rodeo. I think, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight, whether it’s in trios, tag teams as JetSpeed or ‘The Jet’ as a singles star. That’s one to watch for the future in any wrestling promotion in the world.
As far as young female wrestlers, Persephone, who works with AEW and CMLL, has come in. I think Persephone is fantastic. She also wrestled for me in ROH, and I think Persephone has all the tools. And again, talk about our partnerships, dual contracts, she’s a great star for CMLL, and she can be a great star in AEW too.”

MJF Comments on Other Wrestling Promotions Would Censor “F*ck ICE” Chants But “We’re The Listening Company”
As noted before, Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite show in Las Vegas, Nevada featured the crowd chanting “Fuck ICE” prior to the start of the AEW World Championship Eliminator match between Brody King and MJF.
DraftKings’ Ross Tucker held a recent interview with AEW World Champion MJF. One of the topics discussed included MJF’s thoughts about the “Fuck ICE” chants going viral from AEW’s show and being covered by news outlets.
“Literally last night, we were in Vegas and they started a Fuck ICE chant. Now, I don’t care what side of the political line that you land on, there’s no other wrestling promotion that wouldn’t censor the fans. We don’t do that, we’re the listening company. So, if all the fans want to chant that, we’re going to let them chant that. I think that is inherently really cool and awesome. I think that’s what makes my company special. We don’t censor the fans. It’s nice, it’s very nice.”

Ricochet Comments On Potential Future On-Screen Partnership With Samantha Irvin
As noted before, Samantha Irvin departed from WWE in October of 2024 over issues related to Irvin’s outside music projects and Irvin wanting to do more than just be a ring announcer in the company. Irvin revealed this past January that she is interested in the idea of managing her husband Ricochet in AEW once her non-compete clause with WWE expires.
A recent episode of the Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez podcast featured Ricochet as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Ricochet’s thoughts about the potential of an on-screen partnership with his wife in the future and his excitement for it.
“Yeah, I think so too. Wrestlers are always talking wrestling, wrestlers are always talking potential this or potential that. Nothing is set in stone, everything is just kind of in the air, but I think it eventually happening — maybe historic is the word. I think she and I, our chemistry together — whether it’s good or bad, I think we’ll be able to get reactions out of people. We’ve already proven that we can get reactions out of people off of little to nothing.
She’s been an actress her whole life, she’s been in plays so getting into a character is nothing new for her. It’s going to be like riding a bike for her. That’s something that I’m excited to see too. I’m excited for the world to see and I’m excited for her creatively. Who knows if that’s going to be this year or next year or whenever. Yeah, I’m just exited for her to create.”
