As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Typhoon, real name Fred Ottman has been hospitalized since this past January due to a serious health issue involving his gallbladder had “exploded” inside of him and him suffering a serious infection afterwards.
Ottman provided an update on Sunday on Facebook stating that he was discharged from the hospital on February 9th and will be undergoing surgery on February 23rd. Ottman also thanked everyone who has supported him throughout this ordeal.
“I just want to thank everybody for all the well wishes and everybody that’s been there for me and everything. I’m glad for all the support and everything and God bless. I’ve been trying to occupy my mind training as far as walking, learning to walk again with this walker and all that stuff. Getting up and getting down and getting up and getting down. It’s very frustrating sometimes. But some of you that’s been there know what the deal is.”
Ottman also stated that he has been signing some cards and doing some autographs for wrestling fans to help keep his mind where it needs to be during his recovery.
“Like I said, I’ve been signing some cards and doing some autographs for some wrestling fans. Trying to keep my mind where it needs to be. But everything is good. It just takes time. It’s a slow, one step at a time kind of situation. But I love you all, and thank you very much for all the support. God bless you.”
In a follow-up post, Ottman’s official Facebook page listed the address where fans can send in cards for him to sign.
“For all of Fred’s friend who has asked where to send cards. This is the address. Fred Ottman 465 7Th Ave North, ST Petersburg Florida 33701. He has missed talking to everyone. HE is trying very hard and will make it. Thanks for all the prayers.”
