As noted before, WWE SmackDown co-lead writer Brian “Road Dogg” James recently departed from WWE.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that prior to his departure, James had openly expressed his unhappiness and tendered his resignation from WWE’s creative team and departed from the company.
Johnson reported that James was not let go nor was his departure the result of WWE removing him. Instead James reportedly made the decision to walk away from his job.
In regards to James’ scheduled meet and greets for the WWE World convention this April, Johnson reported that James is still under a WWE Legends deal which would be separate from his former employment for the company. Johnson also reported that it is possible James will still make those scheduled appearances.
BodySlam.net’s Cory Hayes reported that his sources stated James had been upset with his diminishing role in creative in recent months and made the decision to walk away from the company. One source spoken to reportedly stated that it seemed like it was almost inevitable that Road Dogg was on the way out.
