Mexican sports outlet RECORD reported that former WCW and lucha wrestler and AAA creative member Konnan, real name Carlos Santiago Espada, was recently hospitalized in San Diego, California.
It was reported that Konnan had one of his legs amputated following medical complications.
Konnan’s medical situation was first reported by @elplanchitas who wrote:
“I can confirm that Carlos Santiago Espada (62 years old) had a leg amputated. For some time now, the Triple A star has been dealing with health problems that have left him in a delicate state in San Diego, United States.”
Konnan’s medical situation has yet to be officially confirmed by him nor anyone close to him.
Konnan has been dealing with several health issues over the years including kidney-related problems dating back to 2007 when he underwent a kidney transplant and being placed on dialysis in 2022. Konnan also had been dealing with health issues following a severe bout of COVID-19 in February of 2021 and had underwent heart surgery in January of 2022.
