Reason for HOOK’s Abscense from AEW National Title Blackjack Battle Royale

Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2026 event at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California featured HOOK being noticeably absent from the 21-Man Blackjack Battle Royale match for the AEW National Championship.

Johnny TV replaced HOOK for his scheduled spot in the match.

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that the reason for HOOK’s abscense from the match and show was due to him not being medically cleared at the last minute.

While the nature of HOOK’s injury is currently not known, Alvarez reported that those spoken to stated that he is expected to be fine.

A timetable for HOOK’s in-ring return is currently not known.

HOOK last wrestled in mid-January for Limiteless Wrestling and last wrestled for AEW on the January 7th episode of AEW Dynamite in a Lights Out tag team match with Powerhouse Hobbs against Hangman Adam Page & Swerve Strickland.

Backstage WWE Reaction to Ronda Rousey’s Surprise Appearance at AEW Revolution 2026

As noted before, former MMA fighter and WWE wrestler Ronda Rousey made a surprise appearance at AEW’s Revolution 2026 event.

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources stated that the general reaction from most within WWE over Rousey showing up on AEW’s show was being “shocked” over it.

Alvarez reported that only a few people within WWE knew beforehand of Rousey’s appearance for AEW’s show.

Britt Baker Comments on Her Not Being One of Surprise Returns at AEW Revolution 2026

Sunday’s AEW Revolution 2026 event also featured Luchasaurus, Adam Copeland, Christian Cage, Will Ospreay, and Kenny Omega all making surprise return appearances to AEW. One notable person who didn’t make a surprise return was Britt Baker who has been absent from AEW since November of 2024.

In a response to a fan on Twitter, Baker stated that her abscense from Revolution and her potential return to the company is not up to her.

This fan stated “We’ve had a return/debut after 4 different matches tonight but when there’s a return staring us in the face we dont get it. @RealBrittBaker come home.” Baker responded stating “Not up to me.”
