Pat McAfee Says He’s Completely Out Of The Wrestling Business
Saturday’s WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 event in Las Vegas, Nevada featured Cody Rhodes defeating Randy Orton to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship.
This match was notable for Pat McAfee proclaiming in the build up to it that Orton would “save” the wrestling business when he defeats Rhodes for the title. McAfee also had proclaimed that he would completely leave the wrestling business if Orton somehow was unable to defeat Rhodes at WrestleMania 42.
McAfee’s wife Pat provided an update earlier today on Instagram posting a photo of McAfee sitting on a bed wearing a neck brace with the caption of “The first morning since 2017 that babe is completely out of the wrestling business. Thanks Jelly Roll.”

Backstage Update on Roman Reigns WWE Contract Status
As noted before, Roman Reigns teased in a recent interview with WWE of him leaving the company if he loses to CM Punk for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night 2 of WrestleMania 42.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources denied being true the recent online rumors about Reigns’ contract with WWE potentially expiring soon and he could be departing from the company after WrestleMania 42.
Johnson reported that those spoken to stated that WWE is purposely staying quiet in order to “encourage conspiracy theories” leading into Wrestlemania 42 about Reigns’ status in the company.
One source spoken to with knowledge of the situation reportedly stated that even if Reigns’ contract was to be expiring, “it was all worked out with time to spare.”
Road Dogg Comments on What Led To His WWE Departure & Feeling He Was Wronged By WWE
As noted before, WWE SmackDown co-lead writer Brian “Road Dogg” James departed from WWE this past March.
A recent episode of the Busted Open Radio featured Road Dogg as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Road Dogg’s thoughts about what led to his departure from WWE and him feeling that he was wronged by WWE over it.
“Did any of you watch Unreal? I’m old, so I’m not a fan, it’s a little behind the scenes. I feel like I don’t need to tell you what happened. I feel like if you watched that show, you saw what happened, and so here I sit. I’m happy with it. I have friends there, that are still going to be there. I have gripes, I do have gripes, but saying that even sounds shitty to say. ‘Oh, you’re going to gripe about stuff?’ Why? People there are still my friends. I feel like I was done a little wrong and I feel like I was receiving a paycheck, and I didn’t have any purpose. I was making a dollar, but I wasn’t making any decisions. I think I can make a difference somewhere, where maybe I don’t make as many dollars. In this phase in my life, that’s what I’m thinking of.”
