Big Damo Comments on His Decision to Sign with MLW & How Shoulder Injury Delayed His Signing
As noted before, Big Damo, former Killian Dain in WWE, recently signed an official contract with Major League Wrestling.
A recent episode of Fightful’s In The Weeds podcast featured Big Damo as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Damo’s thoughts about his decision to sign with MLW.
“You hear a million times, it’s pretty easy to get dangled carrots and things like that when you’re a former WWE superstar. MLW has been very straightforward. They got in touch, they were very patient, I was recovering from a minor injury, and they were very patient with me. We were able to work out something very quickly. I’m delighted. It’s an incredible roster. My mind was kind of blown when I was looking at it because there are so many lads I’ve worked with and some that I’ve trained. One of my best friends, Donovan Dijak is there as well. It’s really checking all the boxes for me. Most importantly for me, they were very patient with my recovery and little things like that go a long way for me. I’ve been wrestling for 22 years. To have a stacked roster and to be straightforward is as good as it gets 22 years in.”
Damo also gave his thoughts about how his shoulder injury this past January ended up delaying his signing with MLW.
“I dislocated my shoulder in January. I had a minor tear after. I’ve done my best to work around it as best I can, but I’ve had to miss a couple of dates in Ireland for OTT. They’ve been very gracious to help me recover, and MLW were great. I was meant to start in January, but I had to miss due to rehab. I’ve been working around it as best I can. MLW has been very patient. I’m fighting fit and ready to go. It’s been phenomenal to have that grace. It’s one of those things where a big opportunity might come around, and you end up missing it because of one thing or another. I thought this was one of those times, but MLW worked with me, and I’m very excited it paid off.”
