AEW held a media scrum following Sunday’s Double or Nothing 2026 event at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
Some of the notable highlights included:
- During his portion of the media scrum, Will Ospreay gave his thoughts about potentially winning this year’s Men’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament and main eventing this year’s All In event at Wembley Stadium. Ospreay stated every kid wanted to be a football player and when he was a kid, he worked with his family at the stadium. Ospreay also stated that it would mean so much to him to headline All In and win a title that means a lot to him. Ospreay also stated that nothing is going to stop him from getting that match.
- During her portion of the media scrum, AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla gave her thoughts about her prediction of Sky Blue winning this year’s Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Cup tournament. Thekla also stated that she would not care if Blue beat her for her title since it is more important that the title stays with the Triangle of Madness.
- On the topic of her face paint on the show being similar to the late Luna Vachon and her being compared to Vachon due tohaving a similar unpredictable and no nonsense style and manner, Thekla stated “That was not on purpose. I’ve heard that comparison a lot, and I love it. I’ve never not liked hearing that. Every time someone says, ‘She’s the new Luna Vachon.’ I go, ‘Yeah.’ That’s cool. I love being the reincarnation, to some extent, of Luna because she was a badass.”
- During his portion of the media scrum, AEW CEO Tony Khan stated that this year’s event was “one of the best nights in the history of the company.”
- On the topic of Mick Foley joining AEW and his work with Renee Paquette on the show, Khan stated that he thought Foley and Paquette would make a great pair moving forward and feels they will be doing so for a long time to come.
- On the topic of QT Marshall’s 1 Fall Wrestling promotion joining the MyAEW service, Khan stated “MyAEW is primarily focused on international but we do have the domestic service, and it has a lot of great content and we plan to feature wrestling from multiple promotions. We’ve just added QT’s great promotion, we have 1 Fall Wrestling now but we’re looking to add more promotions to MyAEW and make it a hub for pro wrestling all over the world… Of course, for a lot of fans, it’s already become a great destination. It’s been a key part of our international strategy but also here in the US. There’s great promotions that we can make available on MyAEW and still we have all of our focus here pushed towards HBO Max and Warner Bros. Discovery.“
- On the topic of the potential of AEW running a show at Madison Square Garden in the future, Khan brought up the story of the first AEW Dynamite show being planned for MSG and how the building’s management called him to express interest only for them to later call saying they no longer were interested. Khan stated it was similar to Lucy from the ‘Peanuts’ comic strip pulling the football away from Charlie Brown.
- On the topic of Darby Allin’s run as AEW World Champion that ended at the event, Khan stated that he was proud of Allin’s title run and how he has just about done everything he has set out to do. Khan also stated that he believes that Allin had one of the greatest World title reigns in the company’s history. Khan also gave his thoughts about Kevin Knight turning on Allin and him being interested to see what Knight had to say about it.
- On the topic of Paramount Skydance’s acquisition deal for Warner Bros Discovery, Khan praised Paramount CEO David Ellison and his long-time history with Ellision. Khan also stated that he had worked with Skydance over NFL collaborations. Khan also gave his thoughts about how he did not like Netflix’s idea of separating TBS and TNT from HBO Max had they gotten WBD instead. Khan also gave his thoughts about his optimism of AEW expanding into more homes due to Paramount’s plans to combined their Paramount+ streaming service with HBO MAX.
- On the topic of injuries coming out of the event, Khan provided an update on QT Marshall after he accidentally slipped off the wet top rope and fell to the outside following the Vita Cola water splash spot at the end of the 10-Man Tag Team match on the Buy In Pre-show. Khan stated that Marshall is going to be okay after he was checked on after the match.
- On the topic of Rebel’s current battle with terminal ALS, Khan stated ““First of all, I wanna send best wishes to Rebel. Rebel’s been with us since the beginning. She’s not here on the road with us now but Rebel’s still always gonna be a big part of AEW and we’re thinking about her. I really appreciate you asking about it and we’re keeping Rebel in our thoughts but also, there are things you can do to support her. I just got it today—I have not had a chance to reply because I’ve been at the show, but I’m going to reply to him. I just heard from Steve Gleason. Steve Gleason reached out on behalf of the ALS Foundation and his own foundation and I do think there’s gonna be great chances to collaborate and do something… and with this, we’ll have these bracelets, thinking about Rebel and I’m thinking that it would be great to work with Steve Gleason and the ALS Foundation to put together Fight for the Fallen, and have Fight for the Fallen to benefit ALS and people dealing with ALS and the treatment and I think that would be something we could all do that would be a positive way to support and in the meantime, yes, there are ways the fans can support it which is giving to ALS research and supporting the charity now. You don’t have to wait for Fight for the Fallen, and that’ll be a great opportunity also for people to give to support ALS research and treatment.”
- On the topic of AEW potentially bringing in CMLL’s micro wrestlers for shows, Khan stated “It’s a great idea. It’s a great thought. I have not thought a lot about it, but it’s a great thought and a good idea. It’s something for us to seriously consider. There is a big audience for them, they are very popular, and certainly, we can put it under consideration. It’s not something we’ve thought about or talked about doing, but it could be good. Before long, we’ll be back in Mexico, so you’ll see them when we go to Arena Mexico for Grand Slam Mexico.“
