Ludwig Kaiser (El Grande Americano) Battery Arrest in Florida Update – Rumor of Kaiser Attacking Man After ICE Comments Made Directed at Andrea Bazarte Believed To Be Planted Story

As noted before, WWE and AAA talent Ludwig Kaiser, also known as El Grande Americano and real name Marcel Barthel, was arrested on charges of battery last week following an altercation with a man in Orange County, Florida. This incident was revealed to have been caused after Kaiser and a female were acting “uncontrollably intimate” in an elevator and Kaiser attacked the man after being allegedly told to “please have some manners.” Kaiser’s motion to be allowed to continue to travel for WWE both within the United States and internationally was recently approved.

Following Kaiser’s incident and arrest being made public, a rumor had spread online that was originated from former WrestlingInc. owner Raj Giri who claimed on Twitter that the man had made comments about him calling ICE that was directed at Kaiser’s significant other and AAA backstage correspondent and interviewer Andrea Bazarte. Giri claimed that this was the reason why Kaiser had attacked the man.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated within WWE believe that the story about Kaiser defending himself and Bazarte from ICE comments was something that was planted within the company.

It was reported that there was an “unfamiliar number” that had reached out to several members of the wrestling media with the story as opposed to it being from Kaiser, Bazarte, or a member of WWE’s team.

It was also reported that there is currently optimism internally that Kaiser’s legal situation will eventually be resolved without major consequences. Kaiser reportedly currently does not have any backstage heat over the incident due to WWE officials being informed the night that he was arrested.

It was also reported that some WWE talents spoken to stated that they were in disbelief that the story had been changed to Kaiser protecting himself when it appears that is not what had happened. Those spoken to reportedly also stated that they thought Kaiser should have just removed himself from the situation and not escalate it.

Kaiser is still currently scheduled to compete in a Mask vs. Mask match against Original El Grande Americano at AAA’s Noche de Los Grandes 2026 event on May 30th in Monterrey, Mexico.
