Update on Lucha Underground’s Social Media “Soon” Teaser

As noted before, the official Twitter account for Lucha Underground teased this past April the potential return of the company. This teaser featured a video with the caption of “soon” leading to online speculation of an upcoming revival of the promotion.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that their belief is that the teaser and online buzz generated may be tied to the launch of a new YouTube channel featuring Lucha Underground content.

Those spoken to reportedly stated that Amazon MGM has a controlling interest in Lucha Underground but they have not been interested in selling the LU library. Those spoken to reportedly also stated that Amazon MGM officials seem happy with the LU library floating around.

One source spoken to within AEW reportedly stated that they believe there could be some involvement from WWE in Lucha Underground but this is something that has not been confirmed by other sources.

Lucha Underground ran for four seasons from October of 2014 to November of 2018 on the El Rey network.
