As noted before, OVW referee Dallas Edwards suffered a concussion and subdural hematoma injuries at Ohio Valley Wrestling’s Rise show this past March in Louisville, Kentucky. This match was notable for the match continuing in the ring for some time despite Edwards convulsing in the ring after suffering a head injury. Following the incident and backlash towards the company, OVW had announced new safety protocols that have been put in place to prevent a repeat situation from ever happening again in the company.
Edwards provided an update earlier today on Twitter announcing that he has been medically cleared to return to refereeing and is currently accepting bookings.
In an interesting note, a graphic released as part of the post listing all of the indies promotions Edwards has worked for did not include OVW.
“Back to reffing!
The recovery hasn’t been an easy one, but there have been amazing people that went above and beyond to make sure that I wasn’t alone.
I will be resuming my schedule from before and taking additional bookings accordingly!!
