WWE Shareholder Lawsuit Against Vince McMahon Over His WWE Return in 2023 & Sale to Endeavor Update – Trial Reportedly Cancelled

As noted before, a group of WWE shareholders filed a lawsuit in November of 2023 against former TKO and WWE Executive Chairman Vince McMahon over claims that McMahon had engaged in a “sham sale process” for WWE’s sale to Endeavor. WWE executives were ordered by the court this past December to turn over documents related to federal investigations into McMahon’s conduct. McMahon, WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque, WWE President Nick Khan, and others have also been accused of destroying evidence related to the lawsuit. A judge had ruled this past March for redactions in the lawsuit to be removed. Both McMahon and Khan were recently sanctioned by the court for destroying evidence related to the lawsuit case. The plaintiffs are currently seeking up to almost $1 billion in damages for their lawsuit. The start date for this scheduled trial was recently removed from the court’s schedule for reasons unknown at the time.

Post Wrestling and Wrestlenomics’ Brandon Thurston reported that Tama Burton, Court Administrator for the Delaware Court of Chancery, confirmed that the shareholders’ trial has been cancelled as of today.

Thurston reported that it has yet to be confirmed whether a settlement deal has been agreed to or if it is currently being worked on.

The WWE merger trial has been cancelled, Court Administrator for the Delaware Court of Chancery Tamara Burton confirmed to me this evening.

Prior to its cancellation, the shareholders’ trial against McMahon and WWE had been scheduled to start on Monday, June 8th.
