Starlight Kid vs. Thekla for AEW Women’s World Title Announced for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026
Saturday’s Collision Summer Blockbuster 2026 show at The Andrew J Brady Music Center in Cincinnati, Ohio featured one new match announced for the card of AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2026, which takes place on which takes place on June 28th at the SAP Center in San Jose, California.
This new match announced was an AEW Women’s World Championship match of Starlight Kid vs. Thekla (c).
This new match was initially setup over recent weeks shows over AEW Women’s World Champion Thekla calling out Stardom and declaring “death” to the company. During tonight’s show, Tony Schiavone gave a public apology to Stardom for Thekla disrespecting them. This led Thekla showing up to interrupt and stated she won’t be apologizing. Thekla then issued a challenge to Stardom telling them to send their best and she will beat them at Forbidden Door. Stardom also invited Stardom President Taro Okada to attend as well.

In a follow-up segment, a video aired featuring Stardom’s Starlight Kid accepting Thekla’s challenge and for her AEW Women’s World title at Forbidden Door.

Hikaru Shida & Persephone Advances to Vacant TBS Title Survival of the Fittest Match
Saturday’s AEW Collision Summer Blockbuster 2026 show also featured two qualifying matches for the Vacant TBS Championship Survival of the Fittest match.
The first match was Hikaru Shida defeating Zayda Steel.

The second match was Persephone defeating Julia Hart.
Persephone SLAPPED the Black Mist out of the mouth of @TheJuliaHart and picked up the win to advance to the TBS Title Survival of the Fittest Match on the July 1st episode of #AEWDynamite!

As a result of their victories, Shida and Persephone advanced to the Survival of the Fittest match for the Vacant TBS Championship at the July 1st AEW Dynamite show in San Jose, California.

Saturday’s AEW Dynamite Summer Blockbuster 2026 show also featured one new match and two new segments announced for the card of next week’s show on June 17th at the Smart Financial Centre At Sugar Land in Sugar Land, Texas.
