Good Housekeeping held a recent interview with former WWE wrestler John Cena. One of the topics discussed included Cena’s thoughts about how he wants fans to eventually forget about him and focus more on WWE’s newer stars for the company’s future.
“My goal for my stay in the business is to leave it better than I found it-and my résumé is a byproduct of that. I know none of us live forever. Nobody remembers anything. People forget about me. So, my hope for the future is that people forget about me. If [the new WWE] stars have enough gravity, have enough relevance, they should be the ones influencing the audience, the people, in the arena. That is my hope, amazingly-that people forget.”
In a separate recent interview with Adam’s Apple, Cena also gave his thoughts about his fellow Little Brother castmate Eric Andre’s reaction to Jacob Fatu’s attack on him at this past Monday’s WWE RAW show in Baltimore, Maryland. This storyline attack angle revolved Fatu’s being presented with a special ula fala by Roman Reigns and Andre touching Fatu’s ula fala at ringside as The Bloodline were making their way to the back resulting in Fatu attacking him in response.
“I think it was being present, passionate, and coachable in the realm of being on camera and learning what that’s about. I always love being in the ring. It’s immediate, it’s wonderful, if you’ve ever been, you understand.
My castmate and little brother, Eric Andre, just got his first WWE appearance a few nights ago. He’s like ‘Man, it was the best thing of my life.’ So it was just transferring that passion to another lane.”
