As noted before, this past Saturday’s WWE Night of Champions 2026 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia featured Sami Zayn defeating Cody Rhodes and Gunther in a Triple Threat match to become the new Undisputed WWE Championship. This event was notable for a post-show angle that took place involving Gunther and SmackDown GM Nick Aldis getting into a heated argument and physical altercation backstage.
During Monday’s WWE RAW show in Atlantic City, New Jersey, RAW commentator Michael Cole provided an update stating that both Gunther and Aldis have been “sent home” following their scuffle at Night of Champions.
Cole also stated that Aldis has been placed on “administrative leave” as punishment and RAW GM Adam Pearce will be in charge of both RAW and SmackDown for the time being.
