Mick Foley Confirms Expiration of WWE Legends Contract & Bids Farewell To WWE
As noted before, WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley had revealed that he will not be renewing his Legends contract with WWE and has parted ways over his issues with the company’s continued association with President Donald J. Trump. Foley had stated that his final straw was the tasteless comments made by Trump on social media following the murder of legendary director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle this past December and WWE being quiet over the matter.
Foley provided an update on Wednesday on Instagram confirming that his Legends contract with WWE has expired and he is no longer with the company. Foley also thanked his fans and WWE’s merchandise and marketing people.
“Hey everyone, this is Mick Foley and I do have a message for WWE, along with all my fans and fans of wrestling in general. The message for WWE, and specifically for their merchandise and marketing people, the message is: Thank you. And I mean that sincerely.”
Foley also stated that when he got his first WWE action figure in 1996, he thought it would be the only one ever made of him and gave his appreciation for everyone who ever decided he was merchandise-worthy.
Foley also gave his thoughts about him not having any problems signing WWE memorabilia from fans and him looking really forward with his new chapter of his career and life with AEW.
“For fans, I want you to know that I have no problem signing WWE memorabilia. I look forward to it. I’m proud of everything I did there. But it’s time for a new chapter in my career and in my life, and I’m really looking forward to this adventure with AEW. And I’m really looking forward to doing everything I can possibly do to make AEW as great as it can possibly be.
And I’m looking forward to having some merchandise coming out with AEW, in addition to a couple of other companies that I just talked to today that have a couple of exciting ideas. And I will be rolling out those ideas sometime soon.”

As noted before, this past Tuesday’s WWE NXT show at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured NXT developmental talent Nicole Martinez, former Nikki Blackheart in the indies, making her official debut appearance on the NXT brand. Blackheart’s debut appearance was notable for NXT commentator Vic Joseph not referring to her by her ring name or any name at all.
