Johnson reported that Jackson will serve 90 days in county jail, pay Smith a restitution of $81,703.38, and serve two years of probation as part of the terms of his plea deal.

Fightful’s Andrew Thompson reported that Smith had attended the hearing and spoke in court stating that he holds no grudges against Jackson over the incident.

ā€œWhat happened affected me deeply and I do not minimize the seriousness of it. The injuries I suffered led to a long and difficult recovery that I am still trying to recover from, including treatment for a severe traumatic brain injury, a shattered maxilla and a bone graft procedure.

I do not stand here with hatred (or) a desire for revenge. I hold no grudges against Mr. Jackson. People can make terrible decisions in difficult moments.ā€

As noted before, Tiger Mask IV was pulled from this past February’s Jersey J-Cup 2026 event for Jersey Championship Wrestling in Jersey City, Jersey due to a personal emergency issue. Following his match at Thursday’s NJPW Road to G1 Climax event in Tokorozawa, Japan, Tiger Mask stated in a backstage post-match press conference that the reason why he missed JCW’s event was due to visa issues. Tiger Mask stated “ā€œFor me, a retirement fight was never an option. I’d decided not to do it, and I thought I wouldn’t even have a ceremony, but that was just my own ego talking. When I really thought about how Tiger Mask exists because of the fans, I realized I couldn’t act that way. I felt sorry and reflected on it. After all, I am the Tiger Mask created by Mr. Satoru Sayama, so I wanted to face a wrestler with a history as Tiger Mask. I actually had a chance to face Tom Billington in January or February. But I couldn’t do it due to visa issues. When I thought about that, I realized he was still around, and if he’s here, why not have Black Tiger here too? I thought that if this were my retirement match, these two were the only ones who would do.ā€ (Transcript h/t: Tokyo Sports)
