Rey Mysterio Comments on AAA’s Growth Since Being Acquired By WWE

Ringside Collectables held a recent interview with WWE Hall of Famer and AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio. One of the topics discussed included Mysterio’s thoughts about Lucha Libre AAA’s growth as a company since being acquired by WWE in April of 2025.

“I’m very excited, very positive minded, optimistic that it is definitely going in the direction that at one time, Konnan wanted this direction to eventually happen, to be able to display lucha libre around the world, from the group of guys that entered into WCW in 96 and through WCW, a lot of wrestling fans were able to discover what Lucha Libre was because they gave us the opportunity. Now with the acquisition of WWE with AAA, now it’s really stamped all over the world, all around the world. So it’s a very exciting moment, not just for me as a first timer, being with that company, with AAA from the moment it kicked off, to be able to still be around and enjoy this full circle moment is incredible, and the AAA talent are also very excited to see the growth and how it’s happening so fast. The evolution of the sport and the acquisition is happening so fast. So I’m happy that the world is witnessing and enjoying it with us at the same time.”

John Skyler Reveals He & Jason Hotch Had To “Fight” To Be Added To TNA Tag Titles Ladder Match At TNA Slammiversary 2026

This past June’s TNA Slammiversary 2026 event featured The Hardys (Matt & Jeff Hardy) defeating The Great Hands (John Skyler & Jason Hotch), The Righteous (Dutch & Vincent), and The System (Brian Myers & Bear Bronson) in a Four-way Ladder match to become the new TNA World Tag Team Champions.

PWInsider held a recent interview with John Skyler. One of the topics discussed included Skyler revealing that both he and John Skyler were initially planned to compete in the match but then were removed for undisclosed reasons. Skyler stated that they had to fight to be added back to the match for why the match turned into a Four-way in the end.

“For me, obviously, selfishly, me and Jason (Hotch) put a lot of pressure on ourselves, and I don’t mind saying this, we were originally supposed to be in the Ladder match, and we were taken out, and we had to fight to get back in, and that was a talk that we had to have, and we got put back in. So we put a lot of pressure on ourselves on that specific night, with everything else going on in the company, to really deliver a great performance for us. But you’re exactly right, that Slammiversary show from top to bottom was the show that the company needed, and I think that’s always been the story of TNA, is that if all else fails, you can always rely on the talent to go out and hit a home run there, and that’s been from day one, you know? One of the best pieces of advice I’ve gotten since being a part of Order 4 came from Mustafa Ali, and it was: ‘Closed mouths don’t get fed.’ So it’s: Do we speak up about this and feel strongly about it and maybe get a chance and an opportunity, or do we keep our mouths shut and just sit on the sidelines? We’ve done that now, so it was time for us to speak up… I don’t think we have the reputation of being complainers or anything like that, and we wanted to make that known as well, but we had what we felt was like a valid argument, and they agreed, and so we got back in.”

Skyler also gave his thoughts about how he has felt creatively fulfilled for career in TNA and doesn’t see himself leaving the company anytime soon.

“Right now, I can honestly tell you I haven’t felt more creatively fulfilled than I do right now in a very long time, and I think that’s really good. Obviously the money is great, but also I’m—being a fan of this for so long, I really need to feel creatively fulfilled, and I feel creatively fulfilled right now… I don’t foresee myself leaving TNA anytime soon.”

The Hollywood Walk of Fame recently announced that rock band The Smashing Pumpkins will be inducted into their Walk of Fame for this year’s class of inductees. The Smashing Pumpkins features lead singer Billy Corgan, who is also the current owner of the National Wrestling Alliance.

Indies promotion Razor Pro Wrestling announced on Twitter that they have shut down effective immediately. It was announced that the reason for the company’s closure was due to “unforeseen circumstances.”

WrestleCon recently announced that WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi will be making an appearance for the company at their WrestleCon: Destination Minneapolis convention on July 31 to August 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Pro Wrestling Tees recently announced that Orange Cassidy, Megan Bayne, Wardlow, Tommy Dreamer, and The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) will be making an appearance at this year’s New York Comic Con event on October 8-11 in New York City, New York.

Major League Wrestling announced that Panini America, official trading card partner, recently launched their 2026 Panini Major League Wrestling Ring Royalty trading cards set for sale.

This past Sunday’s event for Marigold featured Chikayo Nagashima suffering a head related injury and was unable to continue resulting in her being stretchered off and taken to a hospital. Nagashima provided an update on Tuesday on her official blog stating that she had lost consciousness after suffering the head injury and did not fully become aware of her surroundings again until she was at the hospital. Nagashima also stated that she had underwent a CT scan and while no abnormalities were found in the brain or neck, she was diagnosed with a concussion. Nagashima also posted a photo on Twitter of a bandage on her forehead.

As noted before, Victoria Yuzuki has been out of action for Marigold since this past April due to an ACL injury. Marigold held a press conference on Tuesday in Japan announcing that Yuzuki will be making her in-ring return at their August 9th event in Tokyo. Yuzuki confirmed the announcement on Twitter stating “Sorry for the wait!! Victoria Yuzuki, confirmed return at the Ota Ward event on August 9th!!! I’ve been itching to get back in the ring. The UN belt’s been feeling pretty lonely without me, huh? Don’t know the matchup for my comeback match yet, but I don’t care who it is. On that day, I’ll be the brightest one shining in the ring. TNA Wrestling recently touted on Twitter about their record setting ratings successes for the past two weeks of TNA Impact! shows on AMC. TNA stated “Last week was the second week in a row that we had record setting viewership for #TNAiMPACT on @AMC_TV!
