Finn Balor Comments on “I Feel More Prepared To Be World Champion Than I Was In 2016”
Marco Ercole held a recent interview with Finn Balor. One of the topics discussed included Balor’s thoughts about how he feels more prepared to be a World champion at this stage of his career than he was in 2016 in WWE.
“I think in 2016, I was very wide eyed and bushy tailed. Excited about the future, but very inexperienced and perhaps not as confident as I am today. I feel like over the last ten years, I’ve gotten to grow — not only as a performer in the ring but outside the ring. I feel like I have more self belief in myself, I have more discipline. I have 10 years of experience of ups and downs and having to learn many different lessons from facing top performers from all over the world. If anything, I feel better physically, I feel better mentally, I feel more focused and I feel more prepared to be world champion.”
Balor is currently scheduled to face off against Sami Zayn in a #1 Contender’s match at WWE’s SummerSlam 2026 Night 2 event on August 2 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Joe Gacy Comments on WWE’s Initial Plans for Wyatt Sicks with Bray Wyatt
A recent episode of The FiveMarks podcast featured former WWE talent Joe Gacy, current Joseph Sawyer in the indies, as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Gacy’s thoughts about WWE’s original plans for the Wyatt Sicks group with Bray Wyatt prior to Wyatt’s passing in August of 2023.
“I know there was always an idea for the Wyatt Sicks group, because I had heard rumblings about it before I was ever even approached about it and then unfortunately I think the idea was that obviously Bray was going to be the leader at the time and then unfortunately he passed away and it was like a crazy moment where, there’s a guy named Rob Fee who works in the character development. It was shortly after he passed away he reached out to me and basically told me ‘Hey, Windham thought a lot of you. He really wanted to come down to NXT and work with you.’ And this was the first time I was hearing any of this, and it blew me away cause I had no idea at the time he wanted to work with me at all.
And selfishly I wish we got to do, even like a promo on NXT. Just to have a back-and-forth, something. It would have been an honor. It led to conversations between me and Rob and he basically told me ‘Hey, there’s an idea, so don’t get worried if you don’t do NXT TV as much.’ I guess he was trying to prep me in case NXT stopped using me, cause if you get pulled off TV a little bit there’s always that fear of ‘Oh no, am I going to get fired?’
So he had the prep, he prepped me a little bit and basically told me there’s this idea, there’s this group idea.”

WWE CCO Paul “Triple H” Levesque announced on Twitter that “FIX UR FACE” by Fred Durst and mgk is the official theme song for SummerSlam 2026.
WWE SummerSlam 2026 takes place on August 1-2 at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
