Kazuchika Okada Makes Surprise Appearance at PRODUCE Volume 3 Event & Pays Tribute To Tiger Mask

Monday’s Volume 3: Azucar event for PRODUCE Wrestling in Brooklyn, New York also featured Kazuchika Okada making a surprise appearance.

Following “Dynamite Kid” Tommy Billington & Tiger Mask’s victory over Black Tiger & Black Tiger IV in a tag team match, Okada’s music played and came out to the ring. Okada handed Tiger Mask a bouquet of flowers and bowed in respect in tribute to Mask’s likely final match of his legendary in-ring career.

2 Cold Scorpio’s Arrest Over Stabbing Incident in 2024 Update – 2 Cold Scorpio Pleads Guilty To Second Degree Assault & Armed Criminal Action and Set For Sentencing This October

As noted before, former WWE, WCW, and ECW wrestler 2 Cold Scorpio, real name Charles Scaggs, was arrested in June of 2024 over a stabbing incident that same month in Kansas City, Missouri. This incident revolved around a confrontation that turned physical at a store between Scaggs and the victim while Scaggs was working as a security guard over Scaggs telling the person about him smoking inside.

PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that Scaggs pleaded guilty to the charges against him during a court hearing on Monday based on recent court records.

Scaggs reportedly pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of assault – second degree and armed criminal action as part of an agreement that will prevent him from going to trial. Scaggs had been initially charged with first-degree assault and armed criminal action.

Johnson reported that Scaggs’ trial had been originally scheduled to start today but instead he will now be officially sentenced on October 9 for the charges against him.

Monday’s Volume 3: Azucar event for PRODUCE Wrestling in Brooklyn, New York featured Jeff Cobb, former JC Mateo in WWE, making a surprise appearance. Cobb competed as one of the surprise entrants in the royal ranbo match at the event.

PRODUCE recently announced one new match for the card of their co-promoted DEAN~!!! Sunday School event with ACTION Wrestling on September 13 in Jersey City, New Jersey:

Deadline reported that Dave Bautista, former Batista in WWE, is currently in talks with Amazon MGM to replace Ryan Hurst for the role of Kratos in the upcoming new God of War series. It was reported that the studio made the decision to recast Hurst after he had suffered a torn bicep injury during the filming of a stunt this past June.

TNA Wrestling recently announced that the scheduled Jeff Hardy vs. Nic Nemeth match for the TNA World Championship will not be airing on this week’s TNA Impact! show on August 6 and instead a match contract signing segment between the two will be taking place on the show. TNA had initially advertised this match taking place on the live TNA Impact! show on July 30 only to tape it before the show started and teased at it taking place on this week’s show.

This past Friday’s CMLL Viernes Espectacular event at the Arena Mexico in Mexico City, Mexico was the 22nd time that CMLL has sold out the venue so far in 2026. Dave Meltzer reported in a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Radio that this broke the all-time record for most sellouts of the Arena Mexico in CMLL history and the most sellouts for a venue of 10,000 or more in size for a calendar year of any company in pro wrestling history.

This past Saturday’s NWA Powerrr show on Comet TV featured The Hardway (Jack Vaughn & Dalton McKenzie) defeating The SlimeBallz (Sage Chantz & Tommy Rant) to become the new NWA United States Tag Team Champions.

In a recent interview with The Rival Room Sports Podcast, former WWE talent Braun Strowman gave his thoughts about his Everything On The Menu series potentially getting a third season and revealed that he is currently working on several other projects that he is currently not allowed to talk about. Strowman stated “Hopefully we’re getting green-lit. I’m waiting, I’m chomping at the bit to hear about season three and getting going on that. I got two other projects coming out this fall on Netflix and some other stuff that I ain’t allowed to talk about, but y’all will know when it comes out.” (Transcript h/t: Fightful.com)

As noted before, former WWE talent Zelina Vega confirmed this past July that she will be going by the new ring name of Xelina going forward for her post-WWE career. In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Xelina gave her thoughts about why she picked it to be her new ring name. Xelina stated “I wanted to keep the Zelina factor to it because when you see the Funko Pop and how big Puerto Rico was, I still want to keep that and people know it’s still me regardless of what company I’m with. It’s also shedding the skin. I’m shedding that skin and bringing a more real version of myself to people.” Xelina also gave her thoughts about what the real version of herself is. Xelina stated “That means no more handcuffs. No more, ‘Your promos are so great but they can’t be better than this person. You want to make sure you do this, talk like this, don’t say this.’ Now, there are no chains and no nothing.
