NXT Title Match Set for NXT Heatwave 2026

Tuesday’s WWE NXT show at the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida featured one new match announced for the card of NXT Heatwave 2026, which takes place on August 30 at the Bert Ogden Arena in Edinburg, Texas.

This new match announced was a NXT Championship match of Cruz Montana/Grayson Waller vs. Tony D’Angelo (c).

This new match was initially setup last week over Waller’s “pipebomb” rant promo that included digs at the NXT Men’s locker room and D’Angelo as champion and both him and Montana going after D’Angelo for his title. During tonight’s show, D’Angelo came out to the ring and addressed what happened last week with him, Waller, and Montana. This led to Waller and Montana both coming out and making their case why they should get a shot at D’Angelo’s title. D’Angelo responded telling both of them to go to NXT GM Robert Stone to get a #1 Contender’s match made and he will face the winner at Heatwave.
