Clarification on WWE’s Pay Cut Offer Percentage Amount To New Day (The New Level)

As noted before, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston departed from WWE this past May following a mutual decision from both sides over New Day not accepting a new restructured deal offer to stay in the company. Kofi and Austin Creed made their official debut for AEW at this past Sunday’s AEW All In 2026. Kofi and Creed had revealed in a recent interview with The Ariel Helwani Show that the reports and rumors of WWE had offered them 50% pay cuts for a potential new deal were not accurate and instead it was actually more than 50% for a pay cut.

A recent episode of the Grilling JR podcast featured co-host Conrad Thompson stating that he had heard from others that WWE’s pay cut offer to Kofi and Creed was rumored to be a 75 percent pay cut.

“More than 90 days ago when we found out that New Day was no more in WWE, and there was lots of rumors and innuendo at the time that they were [offered] a 50 percent pay cut. The rumor and innuendo that I’ve heard is it was actually a 75 percent pay cut. And some of that was confirmed on an interview with Ariel Helwani. Now, they didn’t say 75, but that’s the number I’ve heard bandied around.”

The Wrestling Observer’s Bryan Alvarez reported that his sources denied the rumors of Kofi and Creed’s pay cut offer being for 75 percent and instead it was for an amount slightly higher than 50 percent.
