AEW Holds Ten-Bell Salute Tribute To The Butcher

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show at the Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia featured AEW holding a ten-bell salute and airing a tribute video in memory of the late “The Butcher” Andy Williams.

In a follow-up segment, AEW commentators Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Taz gave some words in tribute to Williams and how much of an impact he had on their lives and in wrestling.

Rebel Makes Appearance For Special Reunion With Britt Baker

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show also featured Rebel making an appearance and reuniting with Britt Baker for a special edition of The Waiting Room talk show.

During the show, Rebel was seen seated in her wheelchair and welcomed Baker who came out and gave some words of praise and encouragement to Rebel on her battle with terminal ALS. Baker then welcomed their guests Persephone and Hikaru Shida for some words about their issues with Thunder Rosa and Maya World ahead of their tag team match on the show.

In a follow-up segment, a video was aired focusing on Rebel and her battle with terminal ALS and Rebel and AEW’s efforts to help raise money to fund research and find a cure.

Britt Baker Makes In-Ring Return

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show also featured Britt Baker making her in-ring return to AEW.

Baker teamed up with Persephone and Hikaru Shida in a Trios match against Thunder Rosa, Hyan, and Maya World, which was won by Baker, Persephone, and Shida after a special assist by Rebel.

This was Baker’s first match since November of 2024.

Steven Borden Makes AEW TV In-Ring Debut

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show also featured Steven Borden, son of WWE Hall of Famer and former AEW wrestler Sting, making his official televised in-ring debut in AEW.

Mark Davis Pays Tribute To The Butcher

Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show also featured Mark Davis paying tribute to the late “The Butcher” Andy Williams.

During the tag team match between the Don Callis Family (Davis & Josh Alexander) and Steven Borden & Darby Allin, Davis hit a powerbomb to Allin and then did Williams’ lunges walk taunt in tribute to him.

Current Card for Next Week’s AEW Dynamite Show

AEW announced two new matches for the card of next week’s AEW Dynamite show on September 16 at the Chartway Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

Current card for September 16th AEW Dynamite show:

  • Trios match – United Empire (Will Ospreay, Francesco Akira, & Andrade El Idolo) vs. Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, & PAC)
  • Chris Jericho vs. Nick Wayne

Current Card for Next Week’s AEW Collision Show

AEW announced one new segment for the card of this week’s AEW Collision show on September 12 at the MassMutal Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

This was announced to be this week’s show to feature a tribute to the late “The Butcher” Andy Williams.
