Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart special in Athens, Georgia featured AEW honoring Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, and showing support for her battle with terminal ALS. This event also helped raised funds for the I AM ALS organization and Team Gleason.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that there was a large group of visitors backstage at AEW’s show.
Those in attendance backstage reportedly included MLW World Champion Killer Kross, Scarlett Bordeaux, TNA Hall of Famer Gail Kim, Christy Hemme, and former AEW ring announcer Dasha Gonzalez. Johnson reported that a large group of family and friends of Rebel, also were in attendance backstage at the show.
Johnson reported that quite a number of people came to the show specially to show their love and support for Brooks and to be there for the Dynamite event that honored her.
Former NWA and current indies talents The Hex (Allysin Kay & Marti Belle) revealed on Twitter that they were also in attendance backstage at the event.
Many within the wrestling world have recently been participating and challenging others to participate in the ALS Ice Bucket challenge in support of Rebel and help raise funds for research to find a cure.
