Rebel Asks Fans To Sign Petition To Protect Bill For ALS Research & Treatment Access

As noted before, Rebel, real name Tanea Brooks, was diagnosed with terminal ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) this past May. AEW has released a special “Rebel Heart” merchandise with 100% of the profits going to support those affected by ALS. Rebel became an ambassador for the I AM ALS organization this past June. This past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show in Athens, Georgia featured AEW honoring Rebe and helped raised funds for the I AM ALS organization and Team Gleason.

Rebel stated in a post on Friday on Instagram that she had received an urgent message from the I AM ALS organization after returning home from this past Wednesday’s AEW Dynamite Rebel Heart show.

Rebel stated that the Accelerating Access to Critical Therapies for ALS Act, also known as the ACT for ALS, is currently set to expire on September 30 unless Congress reauthorizes it. Rebel also stated that Congress is attempting to delay a final decision until the end of 2026 but many ALS patients cannot afford to wait that long.

Rebel also urged fans and the public to sign a petition to protect the bill and renew it for ALS research and treatment access for those suffering from the disease.

““PLEASE WATCH AND READ… VERY URGENT!

You’ve heard me talking about how important I AM ALS and their bill – the ACT for ALS – means to me. Renewing it will secure another $500 million for ALS research and treatment access. Even though it has unanimous support, Congress might keep pushing it off until the end of the year or longer. Please sign your name to this petition and tell them that’s not ok. ALS deserves your support, and needs it now. We can’t afford to wait. The ALS community needs hope and we need it urgently ❤️
