As noted before, this past Saturday’s Fightland 2026 event and MLW Fusion tapings for Major League Wrestling in Charleston, South Carolina featured former TNA talent Masha Slamovich making her official debut in MLW. Slamovich competed in two matches at the tapings with the second being her defeating Shotzi Blackheart to become the new MLW World Women’s Featherweight Champion.
PWInsider’s Mike Johnson reported that his sources stated that Slamovich has signed an official contract with MLW. Those spoken to reportedly stated that Slamovich signed with MLW this past early July.
Johnson reported that MLW’s plans for Slamovich’s debut in the company was always to have her align with the heel CONTRA stable and be in a feud with Blackheart for the MLW World Women’s Featherweight title.
In regards to MLW’s original plans for Tessa Blanchard prior to her being pulled from this past Saturday’s tapings, Johnson reported that it is currently not known if Slamovich was slotted into whatever were MLW officials original plans for Blanchard. Johnson speculated that based on the timing of the situation, it appears that Blanchard’s situation with MLW was completely independent and whatever was planned for Blanchard was instead used for Slamovich instead.
