AEW All Out 2026 Post-Show Media Scrum: Tony Khan Says All Tests Have Come Back Good For Steven Borden’s Head Injury, Will Ospreay on WWE Running Against All Out, Potential Future AEW PPV at Azteca Stadium In Mexico, Tony Khan on Him Being Surprised That WWE Was Surprised All Out Sold So Well, & More

AEW held a media scrum following Saturday’s All Out 2026 event at the NOW Arena in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.

Some of the notable highlights included:

• AEW CEO Tony Khan opened the scrum providing an update on Steven Borden’s health status following his head injury during his tag team match with Darby Allin against “The Jet” Kevin Knight and “Protostar” Kyle Fletcher in a #1 Contender’s for the AEW World Tag Team Championship. Khan stated “First and foremost, I wanted to get down to business and say I have a great update. Thankfully, Steven Borden is awake and responsive at the hospital. He had a CT scan and all the tests have come back good. So far, all good results and we’re hopeful Steven’s going to be able to fly home tomorrow to his family. So that’s great news coming out of the pay-per-view.“
• Khan also stated that there were a lot of injuries from the event and many were being checked out by the doctors. Khan stated that there would not be as many guests for the scrum as a result.
• During his portion of the scrum, AEW World Champion Will Ospreay gave his thoughts about him not being interested in an open challenge for his title and wanted those who have earned it from the grind. Ospreay made an exception and issued a challenge to Kazuchika Okada for his AEW World title at Grand Slam France, which Okada and Don Callis accepted.
• On the topic of WWE counter-programming AEW’s All Out event with their own Worlds Collide event on the same night and in the same Chicago area, Ospreay stated “Tonight was super special to me because it was the first time I was on a pay-per-view main event defending the championship, and the entire building was sold out on three matches. It sold out on myself and Jon, Brawling Birds and Divine Dominion, and the ladder match. I cannot tell you the pride that I feel because people did have a choice. Everyone who came to this show tonight chose the right company. We deliver the best pay-per-views, the best pro wrestling. Any time anyone wants to come and step up to us, here is the reality for you, we’re going to knock you down two fucking levels. We are the best pro wrestling in the entire fucking world, do not fucking step to us every again.“
• During his portion of the media scrum, Tony Khan stated that the early numbers for this year’s All Out event are bigger than last year’s show.
• On the topic of The New Level joining AEW and their UpUpDownDown video gaming channel, Khan stated that he does not know about its exact legal status but he wants The New Level’s Kofi and Austin Creed to have a big presence digitally for AEW.
• On the topic of recruiting talent for AEW, Khan stated that any prospective talent would have to be able to deliver on their wrestling and also finding ways to connect with the audience.
• On the topic of the possibility of the AEW World Championship being defended in Japan in the future, Khan stated that is something he is interested in and brought up Ospreay’s history in the country and AEW’s relationship with NJPW.
• On the topic of AEW holding a potential future AEW pay-per-view event at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico, Khan stated “It’s a great venue. It’s absolutely been tremendous for the NFL and I think that it could be a great venue for wrestling someday. We also have a great partnership with CMLL and we’ve had a lot of success with Grand Slam Mexico. It’s now, two years in a row, one of the biggest episodes of Dynamite, and that’s huge for us…”
• On the topic of a recent report from Fightful about WWE being surprised at the sold out ticket sales success AEW had for All Out in spite of their counterprogramming efforts, Khan stated “Did WWE actually go on the record and say they were surprised that we did so well? I was just curious about that. We had our own show to do. I was kind of surprised they would say that because we’ve done very very well. AEW is having an incredible year, why would they be surprised that we would sell out? We’ve sold this arena out many times and AEW is having a fantastic year. I think anybody underestimating AEW would be making a mistake. AEW continues to defy the odds and succeed. If AEW has ever been on the mat, every single time, we’ve gotten up and fought. I agree with what Will Ospreay said. He went out and had a great main event with Jon Moxley, and from start to finish, All Out was an amazing event. I was surprised when I read that WWE sources commented that they were surprised themselves that AEW All Out performed very well. The pay-per-view did great and the show sold very well. I don’t know why anybody would underestimate AEW. We had a great year in 2025 and this year has been even better.”
• On the topic of AEW expanding their television calander and PPV events schedule, Khan stated that it has helped their bottom line and has been “additive” for the company. Khan also praised the fans on their loyalty to the company as they add more shows and PPV events.
