Yuto-Ice Comments on Him Being Open To Appearing In AEW & Wanting To Defend IWGP Tag Titles Against AEW Teams In Japan

As noted before, this past September’s NJPW Destruction in Kobe 2026 event in Kobe, Japan featured Yuto-Ice issuing a challenge to Will Ospreay for a match for his AEW World Championship in Japan.

This past Tuesday’s NJPW Road to King of Pro Wrestling 2026 event in Tokyo featured The Knockout Brothers (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) defeating United Empire (HENARE & Great-O-Khan to become the new IWGP Tag Team champions.

Following the match, Yuto-Ice gave comments backstage to the press stating that he is open to making an appearance for AEW in the future.

“Since Tony Khan sent us Ospreay this time, if that’s what you want, next time we’ll go there to let them use us. That’s what a business partnership is all about, and unless we do things like that, we won’t be able to return to an equal relationship.”

Yuto-Ice also stated that he would like to defend the IWGP Tag Team Championship against AEW teams in Japan.

“I think it would be good to hold a title defense against a team from over there, and if we do, I’d like it to be in Japan as much as possible. With my comments, I hope to use matches between the two countries as a catalyst to increase the number of wrestlers from over there who want to join New Japan.”
