Rumor Killer on WWE Planning To Use The Sphere in Las Vegas As Backup Location For WrestleMania 43

As noted before, WWE is currently believed to likely officially announce the date for next year’s WrestleMania 43 event in Saudi Arabia by this November’s Crown Jewel 2026 event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The reason for WWE’s announcement coming much later than usual for a WrestleMania event is due to issues related to their current plans for the event and the on-going volatile situation in the Middle East region.

Fightful Select reported that their sources stated that there has been no indication that WWE currently is planning to use The Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada as a backup venue location for WrestleMania 43 despite recent online speculation.

It was reported that the venue currently has John Mayer concert events scheduled to take place during WWE’s internally targeted April 10-11 dates and also at the end of the month. Oprah Winfrey reportedly also currently has events scheduled to take place at the venue from April 2-4.

In regards to an official date announcement for WrestleMania 43, it was reported that it is currently not known if this announcement during Crown Jewel 2026 week remains the plan considering the on-going issues in Saudi Arabia potentially affecting the status of WWE’s upcoming Crown Jewel event there.

Online speculation of The Sphere being a potential backup location for WrestleMania 43 originated from comments made by Eric Bischoff in a recent episode of his 83 Weeks with Eric Bishoff podcast. Bischoff stated:

“It makes all the sense in the world, so much so that it’d be hard for me to believe that that’s not happening as we speak. It’s too easy. It’s just too easy and too smart, and it’s certainly not a less than because you’re going to get a whole different vibe. So, very freaking cool.

I don’t hope it happens. Obviously, for business reasons and all that, and you know, world peace and all that stuff. Throw that in there too, just as a side note. But I hope this doesn’t happen. But if it does, and this ends up in the Sphere, it’ll be outstanding.

I’ll be shocked if it’s not the case. I mean, you got to have a backup. We don’t know what’s going to happen …

So it’s a scary situation, but you have to have a plan B. And in the case of WrestleMania, I mean, this sounds like a perfect plan B. If it happens, it won’t be a bad thing.”
