A recent episode of 105.7 The Point’s The Rizzuto Show featured Orange Cassidy as the guest. One of the topics discussed included Cassidy’s thoughts about him wrestling in denim.
“Yeah, it’s like… I don’t know why anybody would want to wrestle in anything else. It’s the most comfortable, durable fabric.”
Cassidy also gave his thoughts about why he uses a drawstring instead of a belt when wearing jeans.
“Yeah. The future is now with denim. So if you really want it, like, and then when I wrestle in denim, I have like a drawstring instead of a- because you can’t wear a belt. People that wear belts when they wrestle, it’s crazy to me. you want the belt rubbing up against your uh your stomach”
Cassidy also gave his thoughts about what was the worst injury he has suffered in his wrestling career.
“I broke my… orbital bone in my sinus on my face. I mean, I don’t want to get too… It happened, and I broke my face, and when you rupture the sinus, the blood goes down your throat and into your stomach. I didn’t know this. I was very nauseous, and I went out back at the small little building we were wrestling at, and I leaned over and my friend took a video of it and it looked like- funny enough around October, The Exorcist, the blood was shooting (out). It was just straight blood because all of it was just going down into my stomach and it came back up. I got knee’d in the face.”
In a separate recent interview with the Show Me St Louis show, Cassidy also gave his thoughts about how he had built a wrestling ring in his backyard after he made the decision to pursue a pro wrestling career.
“I saw wrestling on TV, and I was like, wow, that’s cool. I think I can do that. Built a ring in my backyard, and now I’m still doing it. All this time, so. Yeah, it was one of those things. I went to a show in person, and after that, I was hooked. (Who were you wrestling in the backyard?) My neighborhood friends and, whoever wanted to fight me in a ring built by scraps of wood.”
In another separate recent interview with STL Sports Central, Cassidy gave his thoughts about his theme song situation in AEW over him having two different “very expensive” theme songs he uses for entrances depending on the situation and how he likes both of them equally.
“So, I’m lucky because I have two songs that I alternate between, and the first one that I always have used before AEW and I’ve used now is Jefferson Starship’s ‘Jane.’ We couldn’t get the rights to that for AEW and Tony Khan was like, oh, well, what about the Pixies’ ‘Where Is my mind?’ He got that. So then when I started using the Pixies, Jefferson Starship was like, yeah, you can use this too now. So, I have two very expensive songs that I can use that, I mean, they’re both equally, I like them both. They do the right thing for me in that moment.”
