Tommaso Ciampa vs. Matt Sydal

Ciampa came out wearing a Kratos costume from the video game God of War while Matt Sydal came out dressed as Matt Sydal. I know which one is winning the costume contest for me! Obviously, Sydal. Ciampa soon ended up on the floor, trying to slow Sydal down. Ciampa came back in slowly and baited Sydal into a test of strength before chopping Sydal in the corner. Sydal hit an inverted DDT of sorts, with his leg across the chest of Ciampa, then hit a standing moonsault. Sydal hit a meteora off the apron to the floor, and then went for a top rope move, but Ciampa rolled to the floor and then baited Sydal into a running knee as they went to the first ad break.

Ciampa nailed Sydal with a flying knee as Sydal jumped off the middle rope for a 2-count. Sydal fired up with some hard kicks and countered a slam into a headscissors take down. He countered out of a powerbomb and hit a flying knee followed by a kick for a 2-count on Ciampa. Sydal went to the top rope and Ciampa went to the floor to get away again, but Sydal adjusted and jumped to the outside instead. He sent Ciampa back into the ring and went to the top rope again, but Ciampa cut him off and started chopping him. Ciampa went for an air raid crash from the middle rope, but Sydal countered into a sunset flip powerbomb off the middle rope for a 2-count. Sydal hit a huge running kick to the fallen Ciampa and then went for the shooting star press, but Ciampa got his knees up.

Ciampa hit a running knee, went for a powerbomb, and Sydal countered yet again into a hurricanrana for a 2-count. Sydal hit two kicks and hit the ropes, but Ciama caught him and hit Project Ciampa and a running knee. Ciampa hit a second knee on Sydal and scored the pinfall.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa via Pinfall.

The Hurt Syndicate (Bobby Lashley & Shelton Benjamin) vs. Soloroto (Aaron Solo & Nick Comoroto)

This match had more offense to Solo and Comoroto than you’d expect, and continued Solo’s gimmick of going for Bandido’s 21-Plex and missing, so to offer an acceptable suplex number to the fans, Benjamin threw Solo around the ring with a few German suplexes. Lashley destroyed Comoroto with a spear on the floor, and Lashley and Benjamin destroyed Solo. After hitting a spear, the fans chanted one more time, so Lashley destroyed Solo again to a roar from the crowd. Monsters destroying people always gets over, and this was no exception.

Winner: The Hurt Syndicate via Pinfall.

Backstage: Gabe Kidd, Jon Moxey, Death Riders

The Death Riders were backstage and Gabe Kidd addressed what happened with them turning on him. Kidd called the fake, and said that they did lure him in, but they knew him and knew how dangerous he is. He said that since Claudio Castagnoli was hurt by the Cut, he and the Death Riders were going to rip them apart. Moxley said that if the Cut knew how the Death Riders got started with despair, scraping and crawling for everything, and fighting for a vision, they would never say that something stupid like “The Death Riders are outnumbered,” because they have always had their back against the wall, and they were always outnumbered. Marina Shafir said that this was nothing new for them, and they were more dangerous. Wheeler Yuta said that it didn’t matter if they had Claudio or not, and Daniel Garcia said that it was the Death Riders against the world.

Video: Persephone, Britt Baker

Persephone was backstage after her loss to Queen Aminata on Dynamite screaming about her loss and saying that if Aminata wanted Blood & Guts so badly, there were two slots left in the Women’s Blood & Guts match, so she will be joining on the opposing team if Aminata had the guts to join too.

Artist of Stardom Championship
Trinity (Hazuki, Koguma & Fuwa-chan) vs. Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart, Skye Blue, & Thekla) (c)

Fuwa-chan started the match with Julia Hart, the person she pinned to earn her team this shot in Stardom. Hart immediately started hitting chops and sent Fuwa-chan into their corner, letting Skye Blue and Thekla attack as well. Blue tagged in and went for a fireman’s carry, but Fuwa-chan slipped out, and Hazuki and Koguma cacme in to triple team Blue, hitting a dropkick on her. The Triangle of Madness came in, and they all ate dropkicks and running boots that sent them to the floor. Fuwa-chan hit a dropkick off the middle rope on Blue for a 2-count.

As Fuwa-chan hit the ropes Hart kicked her back, and that let Thekla pull her to the floor and attack as they went to the ad break. Hazuki and Koguma hit a dive as they came back from break, dropping the Triangle of Madness. Koguma locked Hart in a Tazmission of sorts, then spun her around like a giant swing before hitting a Northern Lights Suplex. Koguma had her legs swept and then Hart hit a moonsault on Koguma before tagging Thekla in. Thekla nailed Suzuki on the apron, but Hazuki and Koguma bamboozled her and managed to have Hazuki tag in. Hazuki locked Thekla in a crossface, but Thekla rolled back into a pinfall attempt for a 2-count.

Thekla locked an octopus stretch on Hazuki, and the Sisters of Sin did the same to Koguma and Fuwa-chan. Hazuki managed to get to the ropes, but Thekla hit a running knee strike and then a second before going to the top rope. Hazuki dodged and hit a superkick, but as Hazuki hit the ropes, Thekla fired up and hit a spear, and as she went for the pin, Koguma came in and broke the pinfall, going for a deadlift suplex, but Hart cut her off. Koguma hit Hart with a cutter and then rolled to the floor. Fuwa-chan and Skye Blue tagged in and started exchanging hard forearms before Fuwa-chan locked on an octopus stretch of her own.

Blue got to the ropes and managed to kick Fuwa-chan, but ended up getting caught on the top rope by Hazuki who hit a Power and Glory suplex/splash with Koguma and Fuwa-chan hit a shinning wizard on Blue for a 2-count that was broken up by Julia Hart. Thekla hit a double spear on Koguma and Hazuki, and then hit a crossbody off the top rope to the floor on all of Trinity. Fuwa-chan and Blue exchanged a few pinfall attempts, but Fuwa-chan walked right into the poison mist from Hart and the Sisters of Sin hit their double team elevated uranage for the pinfall win.

Winner: Triangle of Madness via Pinfall to retain the Artist of Stardom Championship.

Backstage: The Opps

Samoa Joe, Hook, and Katsuyori Shibata were backstage and Joe talked about the concept of perception. He said The Opps used to carry the perception that they were not a group to be messed with, and that maybe it was a failure in leadership, or a failure of who was leading at the time, which was a shot at Hook. Joe then said that the perception was going to be restored because the man that tapped out the TNT Champion and beat the AEW World Champion was back, and it was time for a change.

The Beast Mortos vs. Ilja Dragunov

The fans were immediately chanting for Dragunov as he faced the Beast. Dragunov hit hard chops, and I suddenly had visions of Dragunov wrestling Rush, and and I hope that happens in the near future. Mortos and Dragunov exchanged hard chops, which was awesome. Mortos sent Dragunov into the ropes and hit a pop-up Samoan drop for a 2-count. Dragunov went for a German suplex, but Mortos countered. Mortos sent Dragunov to the ropes again, but Dragunov did a Tiger Feint into a lariat and then hit a dropkick off the top rope on Mortos.

As they came back Dragunov was chopping the back of Mortos legs as Mortos was on the middle rope. He then picked Mortos up and dead lifted him into a German suplex. Dragunov held on and hit another suplex on Mortos and the fans chanted for another, so Dragunov went for a third, but Mortos hit three elbows and drove Dragunov back to escape. Dragunov, however, exploded out of the corner with a flying stomp, hit a giant stomp, and then a flying senton for a 2-count. As Dragunov hyped himself up, Mortos managed to hit a back breaker and a discus lariat for a 2-count.

Mortos and Dragunov started exchanging chops again, and Dragunov fired up after getting dropped, but got nailed with a headbutt and was down again. Mortos put Dragunov on the top rope and then went for a suplex, but Dragunov slipped out and went for a powerbomb, and after a struggle, was able to sent Mortos flying into the middle of the ring. Dragunov went for the D-Bomb but Mortos hit a headbutt that sent Dragunov back into the ropes, who then fired back with a Moscow Torpedo headbutt and a D-Bomb for the win. What an excellent mean guy match.

Winner: Ilja Dragunov via Pinfall.

After the match Tommaso Ciampa came to the ramp and conducted Dragunov’s music. Dragunov cut a promo into the camera saying, “Don’t mess with me,” and this match, whenever it happens, is going to rule.

Video: Nick Wayne

Nick Wayne’s defeat of Chris Jericho was recapped, and then it showed Nick Wayne doing a stream, and in the video he said he beat Chris Jericho several times and it cut back to the video on the screen and pyro went off. This is great.

Darius Martin vs. “Speedball” Mike Bailey

This was quite the change from the previous match, with Bailey and Martin flying all over the ring right away. A very nice contrast to the last match, though Bailey also hits very hard. Bailey went for a handspring kick, but Martin slid under it, but turned into a hurricanrana. Bailey went for a kick on the floor, but Martin ducked and almost hit Daniels. Daniels then provided a brief distraction that let Martin hit a dropkick that dropped Bailey to the floor. Martin hit a bunch of mounted punches, and Daniels had to pull him off. Strangely heel like behaviour from Martin. Martin hit a tornado DDT on the floor as they went to break.

Bailey hit a dropkick off the top rope as they came back from break. Bailey hit a sole butt, an axe kick, and a standing shooting star press for a 2-count. Martin and Bailey had a quick exchange and Martin hit a Spanish fly on Bailey for a 2-count. Bailey and Martin exchange pinfall attempts until Martin bailed, but he ate a triangle moonsault to the floor from Bailey. Bailey went for a shooting star press into the ring, but Martin moved. Bailey landed on his feet, but favoured his neck. Martin and Bailey then exchanged a series of pinfall attempts until Bailey hit a straight jacket cradle for a pinfall.

Winner: “Speedball” Mike Bailey via Pinfall.

Video: Will Ospreay, Kyle Fletcher

A hype video aired for Kyle Fletcher and Will Ospreay, and Ospreay said that they were facing off against each other again, but first they had to go through Blood & Guts. Ospreay advised Fletcher to keep an eye on Don Callis, as Kenny Omega, himself, and Takeshita were all betrayed by him.

Divine Dominion (Megan Bayne & Lena Kross) vs. Nixi XS & Leela Feist

This did not go well for favourite guest on this site’s podcasts, Nixi Xs, and Leela Feist. The fans chanted yabba-dabba-do as Bayne was dressed as a Flintstones character. Soon thereafter Divine Dominion hit the divine intervention for the pinfall victory.

Backstage: Willow Nightingale, Wrathlander, Queen Aminata

Harley Cameron, Kris Statlander, Willow Nightingale, and Queen Aminata were backstage, and Aminata confirmed her participation in Blood & Guts, and Nightingale noted that they were ready for the fight, but Statlander pointed out that the Brawling Birds were not there this week to help them, just like they were not there last week.

Adam Priest vs. Konosuke Takeshita

Takeshita and Priest immediately started mat wrestling, but at a very fast rate. It wasn’t long before they started exchanging hard strikes, and Priest’s chops fired Takeshita up. Priest charged at Takeshita on the floor, but Takeshita moved out of the way and hit a DDT on the floor on Priest as they went to the break. As they came back Takeshita and Priest were exchanging forearms on the apron. Priest caught Takeshita in the ropes and hit a dropkick to the knee before going to the top rope. Priest hit an awesome tornado DDT off the top rope for a 2-count, then charged at Takeshita as he got up, but Takeshita hit a blue thunder bomb.

Takeshita went for a running knee, but Priest hit a chop block and went for a half crab. Takeshita countered into an attempt at a falcon arrow, but Priest himself countered again. Priest was dropped with a forearm but ducked under a rolling forearm attempt. Takeshtia managed to hit a knee, a rolling elbow, and then the Raging Fire for the win.

Winner: Konosuke Takeshita via Pinfall.

Backstage: Triangle of Madness, Divine Dominion, Persephone

Thekla, Persephone, the Sisters of Sin, and Divine Dominion were backstage. They cut a promo on Willow Nightingale’s team, and they reminded people that Blue was happily bleeding all over the ring last year, and Thekla said while they stood in their friendship circle they were going to go to work and destroy them.

Video: Mercedes Mone, Marina Shafir

A hype video aired for Mercedes Mone and Marina Shafir, recapping how Marina took the slaps from Mone. It ended with Shafir saying she was going to show everyone who she was, and most importantly, she would show Mone. The match for Full Gear is now official with Shafir facing Mone.

Trios Match
The Cut (Juice Robinson & The Gunns (Austin & Colten Gunn)) vs. The Conglomeration (Orange Cassidy, Kyle O’Reilly, & Roderick Strong)

Strong and Robinson started the match, hitting each other hard and ending with a dropkick from Strong before tagging out to O’Reilly. O’Reilly hit 10 punches on Robinson, tagged out to Strong, who did the same, then Orange Cassidy did the same, hitting rapid punches as the fans counted to 20. They then let Robinson tag out to Austin Gunn who ran full speed at Cassidy, who simply stepped out of the way and Gunn ran into the opposing turnbuckle full force. Soon, everyone was in the ring, and the Conglomeration hit a triple suplex on Colten and Robinson before Cassidy tagged out to O’Reilly.

Austin Gunn ended up caught in a seesaw position on the middle ring rope and was eating chop and kicked from O’Reilly and Strong. Austin Gunn managed to hit a lariat as O’Reilly was distracted, finally allowing his team some offence as they tagged out to Robinson, who started beating on O’Reilly in the corner as they went to break. When they came back the triple team was continuing, and even when O’Reilly managed to go for a tag the Cut was able to pull Strong and Cassidy from the apron. Both Gunns were sent to the floor by O’Reilly as they charged him in the corner and he tagged out to Cassidy, but Cassidy was immediately ended up cut off by Colten Gunn.

Roderick Strong did not take kindly to this and decided to take everything into his own hands, laying everyone out and giving Cassidy time to recover. Cassidy then hit a springboard twisting flip on everyone before tagging out to Strong, who went right after Austin Gunn. Juice Robinson, meanwhile tried to attack Cassidy, but Strong saved him and then started throwing Cassidy at the Cut into he threw Cassidy into a DDT on Austin Gunn. Colten Gunn did a fakeout move and hit a neckbreaker on Cassidy before Strong hit a sick kick on Colten Gunn. Strong tagged out to O’Reilly and Gunn tagged out to Robinson.

Robinson went for the left hand of God, but O’Reilly rolled through and locked on the ankle lock on Robinson. However, as this happened, The Dogs ran down to run interference, and they pulled Strong and Cassidy away with a brawl. Ace Austin distracted the referee and O’Reilly got the tap out on Robinson, but the referee missed it. Jay White ran down and slipped brass knuckles to Robinson, who hit a left hand of God on O’Reilly to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: The Cut via Pinfall.

The Cut laid out the Conglomeration and Robinson hit his brass knuckle shots on Strong and Cassidy as Jay White said that he was sending a kind warning to Orange Cassidy to stay out his business, and he was going to do what Orange Cassidy couldn’t (presumably wanting to take the AEW International title from Jon Moxley). They posed as the show ended with Jay White staring at the fallen bodies of his foes.
