As reported late last night here on the website, former WWE and TNA star Matt Hardy was released from jail. Hardy was in court yesterday in Carthage, North Carolina and was released after the presiding Judge opted to reduce his bond from $1 million down to $100,000. The prosecution objected to the bond being lowered due to the fact that Hardy was released previously to attend rehab and was sent home from that. The judge overruled the objection and stated that Hardy could be released if he posted the lower bond, but only if he goes back into treatment and completes it. Should Hardy fail to complete rehab this time, his bond will increase to $250,000.
“This was done over the state’s objection,” District Attorney Maureen Krueger told ThePilot.com.
Hardy still has the following court dates ahead of him…
* November 30th – Driving While Impaired
* December 1st – Felony Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell and/or Deliver a Schedule 3 Controlled Substance, Felony Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance, Felony Maintaining a Vehicle/Dwelling for Controlled Substances, Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
* December 6th – Reckless Driving with Wanton Disregard
* December 21st – Driving While Impaired, Exceeding a Safe Speed
