WWE Hall of Famer Sunny spoke with Jim Varsallone of The Miami Herald this week. Here are some highlights:
WWE Hall of Fame:
“Seriously, the Hall of Fame was the most amazing thing that has ever happened to me. It was the hardest thing that I’d ever done, because I could go out there for 10 minutes and be Sunny, but to go out there for 10 minutes and be Tammy is a whole different story. I was so, so nervous, but as soon as I got out there on stage, Sunny came back. I pulled the Sunny switch. The Sunny switch came on, and I was fine. Before I went out, I couldn’t remember my speech, but when I went out, I remembered every word. It’s weird. I can’t be Tammy, but I can be Sunny. Everybody told me I had the best speech of the night. I was so nervous, but even a lot of the wrestlers’ wives came up to me at the after-party and said I had the best speech of the night.”
WrestleMania:
“Every show, for whatever reason, is the same to me, but WrestleMania is something different. I quit college for this. I was pre-med. I was going to be a plastic surgeon, and one semester before I was going to get my bachelor’s degree and go on to medical school, that’s when Vince [McMahon] called [in late 1994]. So if I quit med school for this, I must like it. It gets in your blood, and once it gets in your blood, it never leaves.”
