— A new promotion called Showcase Championship Wrestling will run their first show ever on Saturday, June 9 in Queens, New York at the St. Margaret’s School in Middle Village. The show itself will feature several former talents from WWE and ECW. The double main event is Stevie Richards vs. Marty Jannetty and Perry Saturn vs. Danny Doring. Others scheduled include Matt Borne, Chris “Braden Walker” Harris, Little Guido, Danny Inferno, Josh Daniels, Smith James and The Playas Club. — The CWE promotion in Canada has announced that Sid Vicious missed his flight to their show tonight and will not be appearing. They state that Sid told them he was sore from “setting up bleachers” last night. They booked Jimmy Jacobs as a last minute replacement, but will be offering refunds at the door. This is similar to what happened with Sid and the PWS promotion in New Jersey.
