— WWE has been hit with a complaint by the Journal-Inquirer in Connecticut, who have filed a claim with the Federal Election Commission alleging that WWE violated federal election law when it helped Linda McMahon’s campaign by threatening to sue the newspaper and writer Chris Powell. Powell is the man who wrote saying that McMahon made her money from a business based on “violence and pornography,” though WWE was not specifically named in.
The Journal-Inquirer says that the threat is “meant to discourage our right to criticize McMahon” and has a “chilling effect” on journalists.
