Batista Up For Role In Guardians Of The Galaxy – Details

Jason Momoa is apparently in contention with Batista for Guardians of the Galaxy. Latino Review reports that the two actors are remaining two choices to play Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel film. Momoa has been rumored for the role for a while, but there was talk a couple weeks back that he had potentially passed during the contract negotiation stage. Apparently, he’s not out of the picture yet though.

Drax was a human named Arthur Douglas whose family was killed by Thanos, who we saw at the end of The Avengers. The being known as Kronos took Arthur’s spirit and placed it into a powerful new body to create Drax. The film opens on August 1st, 2014.
