At this point, CM Punk is still expected to take time off following WrestleMania 29. Several people in WWE believe that he is more beat up than he’s been letting on and he’s believed to be burned out from his constant work for the company over the past two years.
With Punk out of action, WWE has made sure to secure both The Rock and Brock Lesnar for Extreme Rules. The show will have a six-week build and the star power means that the show may perform better than usual.
Punk has also reportedly been at odds with WWE’s creative team in recent months.
