According to sources, WWE, more specifically Triple H, reached out to Rob Van Dam about three weeks ago about making a return for the company. Van Dam had originally agreed to work several independent wrestling dates for various promotions, but had to go back and let them know that he could only work one date.
Van Dam will be working a reduced/part time schedule. This will include pay-per-view, TV and select live events. The deal is also a short one for the time being. RVD is playing it smart as he knows the return angle will be big and then he wants to know exactly what WWE has planned for him following that before he agrees to sign an extension.
The company reportedly has a storyline in place for him, which is scheduled to begin at the WWE Money in the Bank PPV.
