Former wrestler and promoter, Newton Tattrie, passed away on July 18th at the age of 82.
Tattrie is best known as Geto Mongol, one-half of the Mongols tag-team that was big in the WWWF in 1969 and 1970. The team held the International Tag-Team Titles, the forerunners to the WWF World Tag-Team Titles, and headlined all of the major arenas in both single and tag-team matches against WWE Hall Of Famer Bruno Sammartino.
Tattrie eventually promoted wrestling in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when the city was part of its’ own separate territory, and not affiliated with the WWWF.
