— Carlito was in Qatar this weekend for the announcement of the new promotion Qatar Pro Wrestling. It will hold its first events in October, including a tournament to crown their first champion. The three day tournament takes place between October 3 and October 5 at the Hyatt Plaza inside a tent. It features Bobby Lashley, Rene Dupree, Big Daddy V, Chris Masters, Chris Raaber, Alofa, Johnny Moss and Matt Cross, along with others. The promoter of the WWE tours in Qatar is behind the new promotion. He told media that WWE cost them $1.1 million, so creating their own promotion is a better investment. They intend to open a school to train their own talents. The announcement was picked up by local TV and print media in the country.
— Scott D’amore’s Border City Wrestling announced plans for a 20th anniversary event on October 19 in St. Claire College in Windsor. Talent appearing includes Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Petey Williams, Angelina Love, Rhino, Cody Deaner, Johnny Swinger and Tyson Dux. D’Amore himself will also return to the ring.
