» “Nature Boy” Ric Flair drew 3,123 fans (2,623 paid) on 1/10 in Easley, SC. Rikki’s Nelson’s Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling promoted the show, and reported the impressive attendance figures. The wrestling icon did a meet-and-greet and received several standing ovations.
» WWE laid off a number of staff members working on the company’s website, WWE.com. They also closed down its Asia Pacific office located in Sydney, Australia, laying off everyone who worked out of the office.
» The WWE web site staff was gutted, with numerous layoffs.
» Security guards escorted all fired employees out of the building in Stamford, CT, which was said to not be a pleasant scene.
» WWE made additional cuts, but not all of the names have been made public.
