» TNA’s Bound For Glory PPV in Irvine, CA on October 18 drew a total of 2,400 fans at the Bren Events Center. As reported earlier, they were heavily papering the show ahead of time so that end figure is a result. We’re told several in TNA tried to prevent the company from even going to Los Angeles for the show figuring they would have troubles drawing well. It should be noted that after months of promotion and hype on television, only 850 tickets were sold around a week before the show.
» During an interview with The Sports Business Journal, WWE’s Chief Financial Officer George Barrios seemed to indicate that the success or failure of WWE business is more due to creative ideas instead of a weak business climate. Barrios added, “We traditionally view the cycle of the company being driven less by the exogenous business environment and more so by our creative.” He also added that big stars play a key role in WWE’s successful business model.
