More Teams Announced for Tag Team Championship Match at Slammiversary

As previously reported, Impact Wrestling announced a Four-way match for the Tag Team Championship at this Sunday’s Slammiversary event. Impact tag team champions LAX and Mexican promotion AAA’s Drago and El Hijo del Fantasma (Lucha Underground’s King Cuerno) were previously announced as two of the teams.

Impact recently revealed the other two teams which will be Naomichi Marufuji and Taiji Ishimori from Japan’s Pro Wrestling NOAH and Laredo Kid and Garza Jr from Mexico’s CRASH. All three promotions currently have a partnership with Impact Wrestling and the idea for this match to be the showcase of it.


ROH’s War Machine Currently Free Agents

Ring of Honor’s War Machine (Hanson and Raymond Rowe) were revealed to currently be free agents after their ROH contract recently expired, according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

The Observer’s Dave Meltzer stated they are still on a working deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling but currently hold all the leverage on ROH for negotiations on a possible new deal there.


WWE Working on a Film Based on the Life and Career of Mae Young

WWE is currently reported to be planning on making a film based on the life and career of WWE Hall of Famer Mae Young, according to this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

This was stated to be the main reason behind naming the upcoming Women’s Tournament in her honor and recent promotion by the WWE claiming her to be the pioneer of women’s wrestling at least in the United States. The current plan for the film is to establish her status as the “Babe Ruth” of women’s wrestling.


Update to Recent Jim Cornette and Vince Russo News

As previously reported, Jim Cornette and Vince Russo have been feuding with each other over the past several weeks on their respective podcast shows. The situation took a drastic turn recently when Russo filed a restraining order against Cornette claiming he feared for his and his wife’s lives based on threats made by Cornette.

During a recent episode of the Jim Cornette Experience podcast show, Jim Cornette revealed he will be selling autographed copies of the restraining order sent by Russo with half of the proceeds going to charity. The charity revealed was WHAS Crusade for Children which benefits a number of children’s charities in both Kentucky and Indiana.
