News & Notes On The Rock, Masato Tanaka’s Return, ROH/NYC

Former ECW Champion Masato Tanaka will make his return to the US on January 23rd for JAPW in Rahway, NJ. He will face Homicide.

In the finals of the 2009 Jeff Peterson Memorial Cup Tournament, Davey Richards defeated Silas Young to win the tournament. Former WWF star Ron Bass worked the undercard of the show, beating Sean Davis in a bullrope match. Talent from CZW, FIP, DGUSA, AAW and Hybrid Wrestling worked the tournament.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Planet 51 debuted at #4 at the box office with $12.6 million.
