World Wrestling Entertainment spokesperson Robert Zimmerman contacted the Orlando Sentinel Tuesday to dispute elements of its story on Nightline profiling former WWE CEO Linda McMahon.
Zimmerman disputed a note on WWE lacking adequate steroid testing and Nightline referring to the lack of health care and penchants for former performers. Zimmerman said WWE does have an abuse and drug testing policy, which was reinstated in 2006.
He also noted that its Talent Wellness Program provides some medical services for performers under contract, but they are expected to pay for any non wrestling related health care services. Retired performers are not covered.
