— THQ has released their latest earnings report, which includes WWE ’12, ahead of WWE’s quarterly earnings report. The company reported that the game shipped more than two million copies in the fourth quarter which was “in line with the expectations shared on the last investor conference call.” The company says that the sell-through is up 29% on like-for-like platforms in North America.
— The National Wrestling Hall of Fame Dan Gable Museum has announced via press release that Joe Laurinaitis, a.k.a. Road Warrior Animal, and Dan Severn will be receiving special awards during the 2012 George Tragos/Lou Thesz Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame induction. Laurinaitis will get the Frank Gotch Award which is given to a wrestler who brings positive recognition to the sport through work outside the ring, while Severn will get the George Tragos Award which is given to a wrestler who has adapted his wrestling skills and competitive nature to excel in Mixed Martial Arts. The Hall of Fame inductions this year are going to Kurt Angle and Don Curtis, with John Layfield and Bill Apter getting the Lou Thesz and Jim Melby Awards, respectively.
